Registering for Re-sits

Candidates who are Not Proficient in external assessment are automatically entitled to re-sit. Any re-sit should, wherever possible, be undertaken at the next specified external assessment (EA) date in order to ensure the minimum gap between the original EA and the re-sit.

Second Re-sits
Candidates are not automatically entitled to a second re-sit. CPCAB will, at its discretion, make special arrangements for a second re-sit if (a) the candidate has been assessed as Proficient in the internal assessment; and (b) the training centre provides CPCAB with an acceptable supporting explanation.

However, candidates who are Deferred in internal assessment at the end of the course should only be entered for an external assessment re-sit if they are able/likely to achieve Proficiency in their internal assessment.
