External assessment results are sent to training centre exams departments by e-mail according to the published timetable.
One of the following results is recorded for each candidate:
CPCAB does not communicate directly with candidates regarding external assessment results. Any candidates contacting CPCAB directly will be referred back to their training centre.
Tutors can contact CPCAB to make an appointment to enquire about external assessment results for their groups up to 4 weeks after the results have been published. A CPCAB counselling professional will access the relevant papers and offer brief telephone feedback to help tutors reach a decision as to whether to lodge a formal appeal or to make arrangements for re-sits. There is currently no charge for this service provided the appointment is kept. There is however an admin charge for any subsequent missed appointment.
See CPCAB Enquiries and Appeals Policy
If a candidate is ‘Not Proficient’ in external assessment they can re-sit the assessment and/or appeal against it. A fee is charged for both a re-sit and an appeal, although the appeal fee is refunded in the case of a successful appeal.
Please note that (a) an appeal must be made via the training centre and not directly by the candidate to CPCAB; and (b) if an appeal has been lodged with CPCAB this process must be completed before the candidate can be registered for a re-sit.
