Applying to become a Centre

To become a Centre recognised by CPCAB to run courses leading to specific CPCAB qualifications you will need to complete an application form. You can download the application form to run ELSK-L2, LSK-L2 or USM-L2 qualifications from this website. For all other qualifications an application form is obtainable on request from the CPCAB office by phoning 01458 850 350.

There are four types of requirements that applications will need to fulfil successfully:

  1. General requirements – e.g. that the Centre works within appropriate ethical frameworks.
  2. Centre Staffing: Centres are responsible for ensuring that their tutors are competent to deliver the courses concerned. Centres must provide details of staff at the time of applying to offer courses leading to CPCAB qualifications and additionally whenever tutors are replaced. You can download a proforma for tutor CVs here.
  3. Course design: Centres can design their own training programmes (*) or use approved course material (**) written to CPCAB specifications.
  4. Internal assessment requirements.

*All Centre-designed courses must be submitted to CPCAB for approval before candidates can be registered. Although the delivery of courses may differ from Centre to Centre, all delivery must enable the candidates to achieve the learning outcomes specified in the units.

** Centres can use approved course materials (which include a course programme) from CSCT. These have been written specifically for CPCAB qualifications (with the exception of PC-L5 and TCSU-L6, for which no CSCT course materials are currently available) and are approved by us. For further details contact CSCT: Tel. 0870 163 6900; Email: info@csct.ltd.uk; Website: www.counsellingtraining.com  Please note that Centres will still need to apply to CPCAB for approval to deliver the course concerned.
