Using this website

The layout of the CPCAB website is divided in to four main sections on screen to make it easier to use.

Running along the very top of the screen is the turquoise help bar. This contains the following web pages that help you to use the site:

On the left of the screen is the menu. This contains links to all of the pages within the site broken down in to categories. Clicking on any of the menu options will open a sub-menu beneath it. Clicking on any of the sub-menu options will take you to the relevant page. Beneath all of the menu options is a search box which works similarly to any search engine (Google, Altavista, etc).

Adjacent to the menu are the header image, breadcrumb trail and quicklinks menu. The breadcrumb trail ('You are here:') is so called because it shows a trail of where you are within the website as a whole. As you click through pages you will notice that the trail changes to reflect where you are. You can click on any part of the trail to take you to the main section you are currently in, or to the home page.

The quicklinks menu contains a list of some of the most useful or common pages that are visited. It is intended to make it easier for regular users of our website to find pages without having to trawl through the menus. If you have a suggestion for an addition to the quicklinks menu please send the webmaster an email.

Printing pages

Any of the pages on our website can be easily printed by clicking on the 'Printable version' link in the very top right of the screen. When clicked, a smaller window will appear containing just the text of the page you are looking at. This allows the whole page to be printed and saves ink and paper. For reference, the full address to the page is printed at the bottom of the last printed page.

To print, a page

  1. Click on 'Printable version'.
  2. At the very top of the screen click File, Print...
  3. If you have more than one printer available select the one you want to print to
  4. Press Print.

Downloading and viewing documents

We have included many documents both in Microsoft Word (Word) and Adobe Portable Document (PDF) formats. Throughout the website these documents are noted in the text and marked by either a Microsoft Word icon or an Adobe PDF icon . Both Word and PDF documents will appear and print out exactly the same, so we have included both versions to cater widely for users. To view a Word document you will need to have Microsoft Word or Microsoft Word Viewer installed. To view an Adobe PDF document you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. If in doubt it is most likely that you will have Adobe Acrobat installed already. Both are free to download and use.

Downloading Word or PDF documents

When you click on any Word or PDF document on this website it will open in a new window. From here you can print copies of the document.

Alternatively, if you want to save the document for printing at a later date, or you want to copy it to a CD, you can save the document to your computer. To do this:

  1. Right click on the link to the document (on a mac, hold the CTRL key) and click Save Target As... (or Download linked file on a mac).
  2. Pick a place on your computer to save the document. A common place might be My Documents.
  3. Click on OK.

You can then refer to the document at a later date (by opening it from My Documents) or copy it on to a CD.
