What is 'ICSK-L2 (16-19 Programme)'?

ICSK-L2 (16-19 Programme) is the same qualification as ICSK-L2 (i.e. a qualification in introduction to counselling skills at level 2), but the associated Candidate User Guide and Tutor User Guide have been specially adapted to suit the needs of the 16 - 19 age group by including, for example, signposting to evidence within two areas of Key Skills Awards (see below).

Trainees will learn to establish helpful interactions with others and to use listening and helping skills safely and ethically. Fundamental to this qualification is the development of good interpersonal communication skills. In the process of achieving this trainees develop greater self-awareness and grow in self-confidence and social confidence.

As a result of working through the process of learning in achieving this qualification trainees will also meet the requirements for two parts of the Key Skills Award - 'Communication' and 'Working with Others'.

All of the information relating to ICSK-L2 (as given on the main ICSK-L2 web-page) is also applicable to ICSK-L2 (16-19 Programme). However ICSK-L2 (16-19 Programme) comes with its own special versions of the ICSK-L2 Tutor User Guide and ICSK-L2 Candidate User Guide, which include signposts to evidence within the two areas of the Key Skills Award.
