CPCAB (Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) is the UK’s leading awarding organisation in the counselling sector. We provide a coherent counselling qualifications progression route (levels 2-6) including a Foundation Degree in Counselling with the Open University. We also produce a range of counselling training videos via our sister company the Counselling Channel. Administrator/PA: Complaints

Due to our continued expansion we are looking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic individual to the role of Administrator/PA within the Qualification Service.

This role requires excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have strong admin and IT skills (including accurate typing and proofing skills), excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will also be able to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Taking minutes at company meetings
  • Administration of complaints correspondence
  • Assisting Complaints Manager in all aspects of complaints handling
  • Updating tracking forms
  • General admin duties to support the efficient operation of the Regulation and Complaints department

Level 4 Co-Tutor Vacancy

The Northamptonshire Centre for Counselling Studies (NCCS) will be launching a Level 4 diploma in September 2020 and are now looking for a Sessional Co-Tutor to support the Course Core Tutor. This will be a fixed term position of up to 420 hours classroom-based teaching (over the two year course) plus marking and other activities related to the role.

The course will be taught during the Northamptonshire academic year on a Wednesday evening (3 hours) every week and then 9 weekends (Saturday and Sunday) each academic year.

The Person-Specification is as follows:

  • Qualified Counsellor (this must be a level 4 qualification or above that was a minimum of 420 classroom-based hours or above);
  • Currently working in supervised counselling practice (6 months of which is post-qualification);
  • Have had a minimum of 10 hours of personal therapy;
  • Be a member of a professional counselling body;
  • Undertaken a minimum of 30 hours of CPD per year;
  • GCSE or above in English (or equivalent);
  • Proven experience of competence in literacy and IT ability;
  • Knowledge of CPCAB qualifications and assessment procedures;
  • Proven experience of working confidentially and with diplomacy so as to respect the privacy of learners and staff;
  • Working knowledge of the Person-Centered approach to counselling;
  • Teaching qualification or be working towards one;
  • One year of teaching at level 2 and 3 or above.

We are seeking an experienced Tutor to teach on our Level 4 Counselling course on a Tuesday daytime.  
As a Part-time Tutor, you will join our bank of teaching staff and will be offered course,  as and when, that match your area of expertise. Part-time Tutors work closely with Programme Managers in designing, planning and delivering courses which stretch and challenge our learners, as well as preparing a variety of learning materials, providing guidance to learners on progression options, attending termly meetings and completing course administration relating to Internal Quality Assurance.
The successful candidate will be a BACP accredited member. Candidates will be undergoing continual professional development as per the BACP requirements, and also will be educated to Diploma level in Counselling, with significant post qualification experience including supervision. 
Applicants should have experience of agency work as well as private practice. 
In addition to counselling experience and qualifications, applicants should hold a minimum adult teaching qualification (Education & Training Level 3) and delivered Counselling courses, preferably CPCAB courses.  
In addition, applicants should have experience of assessing work in line with Internal Quality Assurance processes. Applicants should hold qualifications in Assessing and Internal Quality Assurance. 
Applicants should be familiar with the integrative model of theory as well as other models such as Freud and Rogers.

Volunteer placements for counselling students - London

London Young Counselling is an organisation which provides counselling and mental health support to secondary schools across the UK. Their service works closely with schools to provide 1:1 counselling sessions to students weekly, during their school day.
London Young Counselling offers placements to people currently in their second year of a counselling course as well as qualified counsellors, all through the year. They expect counsellors to be able to commit to at least one academic year and be able to commit to at least a 3 hour placement slot per week. London Young Counselling cover the costs of insurance, DBS checks and necessary training for volunteers of the service.
