CPCAB (Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) is the UK’s leading awarding organisation in the counselling sector. We provide a coherent counselling qualifications progression route (levels 2-6) including a Foundation Degree in Counselling with the Open University. We also produce a range of counselling training videos via our sister company the Counselling Channel. Due to our continued expansion we are looking to appoint skilled and enthusiastic individuals for these new and exciting roles based at our offices in Baltonsborough near Glastonbury.

Counselling Qualifications Professional

This role has become available with remote working or blended potential a possibility.

The suitable candidate will be a skilled and experienced tutor and counselling professional, with a solid understanding of the CPCAB qualification structure, and the ability to support tutors and centres with the delivery of their qualifications.

Responsibilities of the role include approving centre and qualification applications, coordinating the assessment and moderation of counselling qualifications, reviewing and revising qualification structure and content in line with changes in the counselling and educational landscape.

The role is offered 3 full days a week, £36,000 fte

Team Manager - Qualifications

This Qualification Manager role requires excellent interpersonal, leadership and team management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication along with strong IT and organisational skills. Experience of workflow management and an understanding of regulation/regulatory bodies would be beneficial. The ability to manage staff and processes, make decisions and problem solve.

Duties include managing the daily operations of the CPCAB Qualification Service to ensure the quality of service delivery is maintained across all regulated qualifications and registered centres. The post holder has the responsibility for the smooth running and efficient delivery of qualifications by providing leadership and management of the Qualification Service team together with deputising for the Head of Qualifications.

This position is based at the CPCAB offices in Baltonsborough near Glastonbury, and is a 4 day a week position. The full time (37 hours per week) salary is £30,629 p.a. Therefore the salary pro rata for 4 days per week is £24,843 p.a.

IT Support Technician

This role within a small IT team would ideally suit a candidate who would like to progress and build on technical knowledge through development and training.

As the IT support technician you will be:
  • providing IT support to all staff
  • giving training to staff on core applications and new software, such as the Microsoft Office suite
  • uploading documents and amending webpages using the internal Content Management System
  • liaising with external companies
  • installing and configuring hardware and software.
Essential skills
  • excellent IT skills including fault diagnosis and fixing
  • excellent knowledge of current Windows and mobile operating systems as well as core desktop business applications (Microsoft Office)
  • strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • good written communication skills in order to document processes, procedures and results.
Desirable skills
  • experience of Office 365
  • experience of Windows server and Office 365 administration
  • ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly
  • knowledge of Mac operating systems

This position is based at the CPCAB offices in Baltonsborough near Glastonbury and is a full time position. The salary range is between £20,000-£24,000 p.a. depending on experience.

Administrator/External Assessment Service Assistant

This role within the busy Registration, Exams and Certification team, requires good administrative and organisational skills, strong IT skills and the ability to work independently and within a team. A good telephone manner is essential along with attention to detail and excellent grammar and proof-reading skills.

Duties include assisting the External Assessment Manager with tasks relating to registration, exams and customer support to our training centres.

This position is based at the CPCAB offices in Baltonsborough near Glastonbury, and is a 3 or 3.5 days a week position (days can be flexible but ideally Monday, Wednesday & Thursday). The full time (37 hours per week) salary is £17,000 p.a. Therefore the salary pro rata for 3 days per week is £10,337 p.a.

Exciting Development Opportunities - Become an Exams Assessor, or External Verifier for CPCAB!

Here at CPCAB we are always happy to hear from tutors who may be interested in expanding their areas of professional interest and contributing to our work.

If you have taught CPCAB courses and feel you would be able to offer some time to marking External Assessment papers, either question papers or case reviews, for any of the levels please do get in touch with us.

Likewise, our bank of External Verifiers who visit centres to quality assure their internal processes is ever expanding. If you feel you could offer your expertise and support to centres delivering CPCAB qualifications then let us know.

Counselling Course Leader Levels 2 & 3 - Place2Be

Place2Be is a leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert training to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff.

As Courses Leader you will have responsibility for leadership of the Level 2 and 3 Programmes, which includes curriculum development, programme delivery, delegate learning, assessment and the assurance and enhancement of academic and quality standards.

We are looking for someone with substantial experience of delivering Level 2 and 3 CPCAB (preferably), courses as well as having experience in working with children and young people.

Counselling Tutors - Listening Post

Who we are:

Listening Post is a small and friendly team, delivering counselling to people in the Gloucestershire area and training those who want to become a counsellor, up to a Level 4 Diploma.

What we need:

We are currently looking for part-time tutors to join our growing training team to deliver our Foundation Course in Counselling Skills (Level 2 & 3) and our Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Level 4).

Why you should apply:
If you:
  • have a therapeutic counselling qualification at level 4 or above (420 taught hours).
  • are in current supervised counselling practice, ideally with a minimum of 450 hours of counselling.
  • have a supervision qualification or experience of supervising groups or individuals in a counselling setting.
  • have a teaching qualification or are willing to work towards one.
  • have experience of teaching and assessing at Level 2 & 3 or above, ideally for at least two years.
  • have a desire to shape the next generation of counsellors in an integrative model of Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches.

When we need you:

We need tutors to start with immediate effect. You should be available to teach one afternoon and evening session per week over three terms plus some Sunday workshops during the academic year.

Level 4 Tutor - Synergie Counselling, Dudley

Synergie Counselling are looking to expand their Dudley Centre in the West Midlands, and have a vacancy for a Level 4 Tutor.

The ideal Candidates will be:

  • Qualified Counsellor to at least level 4 (CPCAB Preferred)
  • A Member of the BACP with a minimum of 450 hours of counselling practice
  • 2 years' minimum experience of delivering either a diploma or degree level training
  • Experience of teaching an Integrative Counselling Approach
  • Be in current clinical practice

Support is required for the remainder of this academic year 2018/2019 with a view to progress to teach The Level 4 CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Year 1, which will run on Saturdays from 10am to 4.30pm during the academic term time 2019/2020.

Place2Be Volunteer Counsellors - Nationwide

If you are a qualified or trainee counsellor/therapist, or clinical psychologist and would like to work therapeutically with children, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a primary or secondary school setting. We provide on-site same day supervision, developmental training and possible career progression within the organisation. Placements are generally one day per week, for one academic year, term time only. Half day placements may be available in some areas.
