Opportunity to become a Contracted Trainer with Place2Be
Location: London, South-East, Wales, West Midlands, East Anglia
Commitment: Weekdays and planned weekends
We are seeking outstanding trainers to join us as part of Place2Be's Learning and Development team in our mission to build the mental health workforce across the United Kingdom to support children’s emotional wellbeing.
Rewarding and sensitive work, you will be at the frontline - directly training teachers and school leaders. With 1 in 5 children experiencing a mental health difficulty at least once before they are 11, our mission of early intervention is more critical than ever.
We have two ambitious flagship programmes. Our Talented Teacher Programme trains classroom teachers to be able to support all their pupils and build a mentally healthy classroom. Mental Health Champions works with school leadership teams to advocate for and promote the importance of children's mental health policy and practice – to help build understanding and skillsets to support children’s emotional wellbeing.
Place2Be is a leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert training to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff.
We provide whole-school mental health support and counselling services in over 280 primary and secondary schools in England, Scotland and Wales, reaching a school population of 116,000 children and young people - building their resilience early in life through counselling and creative therapy. We also provide training on mental health and wellbeing for teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build ‘mentally healthy’ schools and communities where all children and young people can thrive and grow up with prospects not problems.
We are looking for trainers who are confident to work with diverse groups. It could be equipping newly qualified teachers with the strategies to identify and intervene early when there are signs that children and young people are struggling with their mental health. Or it could be galvanising head teachers to advocate for a mentally healthy culture that is responsive to all children and young people’s needs, building a community where mental health and wellbeing is prioritised.
