RHACC designs and delivers courses in the most appropriate way to meet the needs, interests and abilities of both adults and young people who wish to learn in an adult environment.
We are seeking an experienced Tutor to teach on our Level 4 Counselling course on a Tuesday daytime.
As a Part-time Tutor, you will join our bank of teaching staff and will be offered course, as and when, that match your area of expertise. Part-time Tutors work closely with Programme Managers in designing, planning and delivering courses which stretch and challenge our learners, as well as preparing a variety of learning materials, providing guidance to learners on progression options, attending termly meetings and completing course administration relating to Internal Quality Assurance.
The successful candidate will be a BACP accredited member. Candidates will be undergoing continual professional development as per the BACP requirements, and also will be educated to Diploma level in Counselling, with significant post qualification experience including supervision.
Applicants should have experience of agency work as well as private practice.
In addition to counselling experience and qualifications, applicants should hold a minimum adult teaching qualification (Education & Training Level 3) and delivered Counselling courses, preferably CPCAB courses.
In addition, applicants should have experience of assessing work in line with Internal Quality Assurance processes. Applicants should hold qualifications in Assessing and Internal Quality Assurance.
Applicants should be familiar with the integrative model of theory as well as other models such as Freud and Rogers.

As a tutor you will support students to:
• take the next steps in professional counsellor training to specialise whether in the voluntary, statutory or private sectors
• learn how useful theoretical concepts are proving to be in their own client work
• Go on to study further CPCAB courses
Through your expert and passionate teaching focus, learners will be expected to demonstrate a critical appreciation of theoretical concepts, ethical issues in all their written work.
These courses challenge candidates to achieve high standards in conceptual knowledge and understanding in aspects of therapeutic counselling. This post will expect a tutor who is more than able to support this development at Level 5.
Professional Counselling experience is preferred and a level 4 teaching qualification is essential. There is a strong possibility of other tutoring becoming available on a range of Counselling Courses up to L6.

The ideal Candidates will be:

Volunteer placements for counselling students - London
London Young Counselling is an organisation which provides counselling and mental health support to secondary schools across the UK. Their service works closely with schools to provide 1:1 counselling sessions to students weekly, during their school day.
London Young Counselling offers placements to people currently in their second year of a counselling course as well as qualified counsellors, all through the year. They expect counsellors to be able to commit to at least one academic year and be able to commit to at least a 3 hour placement slot per week. London Young Counselling cover the costs of insurance, DBS checks and necessary training for volunteers of the service.
