New: Tutor Supervision Groups
From November, CPCAB is piloting Tutor Supervision Groups, creating a supportive space for tutors to connect, reflect on their practice and work through classroom challenges together.
The groups will give tutors an opportunity to:
- Reflect on their teaching style, strengths and development
- Explore challenges and classroom dynamics
- Consider cultural sensitivity and diversity
- Share good practice and learn from other tutors
- Build supportive connections with other CPCAB tutors
The groups will be particularly helpful where centres are unable to facilitate regular supervision themselves. If you are interested in taking part in one of the pilot groups, please email mel.dasilva@cpcab.co.uk

CPCAB IQA Policy
Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and quality of assessment. We have recently formalised the Guidance to Internal Moderation and Verification as a CPCAB IQA Policy, to reinforce the importance of quality assurance, which all centres are required to follow.

BACP APQ Update and Ethical Framework
BACP has released its latest update for Approved Qualification (APQ) centres, bringing together useful information and resources to support tutors and centres in delivering the APQ.
The September 2026 update includes information regarding the Certificate of Proficiency (CoP), including booking guidance, Good Practice in Action guidance and an opportunity for APQ tutors to share their feedback with BACP.
It also includes a reminder about BACP's new Ethical Framework which will become mandatory for BACP members from 3 November 2026. CPCAB encourages all BACP members to familiarise themselves with the revised framework and supporting guidance and to consider how the changes should be embedded within their practice.

Funding Support for CPCAB Centres
Recently, we sent out a survey to our centres to help us build a clearer picture of the funding challenges centres are facing, the funding they currently access, and where additional support may be needed. The information you provide will help us understand the needs of our centres and shape the support and funding opportunities we focus on.
Haven't completed the survey yet? It's not too late! We'd really appreciate your input, so late! We'd really appreciate your input, so please take a few minutes to complete it if you haven't already.

Funding Update for OfS-Registered Centres in England
- Learners will be able to apply for Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) funding from late October 2026.
- The first LLE-funded courses and modules can start from 1 January 2027.
- From that point, funded Level 4-6 provision at OfS-registered providers moves on to the LLE rather than the Advanced Learner Loan (ALL). Learners who start before 1 January 2027 stay on their current funding route for that course, even if they later transfer.
The qualifications eligible for funding under the new LLE provision are:
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
- Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills & Theory
- Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People
What should you do now?
- Confirm which qualifications you intend to offer as LLE-funded from January 2027, and from which intake.
- Check your registration category - Approved or Approved (fee cap). You won't need a fresh assessment for LLE eligibility, but it's worth confirming this is up to date on the OfS Register.
