CPCAB Qualifications and the Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC)
What is ACC?
The Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) is a professional body supporting counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches and pastoral care practitioners. ACC promotes high standards of ethical practice, professional development and client care while supporting practitioners who value and respect religious faith and spirituality, working with people of all faiths and none without discrimination.
How Does CPCAB Work with ACC?
CPCAB and ACC share a commitment to delivering high-quality counselling training and supporting the development of competent and ethical practitioners. CPCAB encourages tutors and candidates to explore frameworks, such as the Churchill Framework (2025), written by Heather Churchill in partnership with ACC, as a way to understand the impact of religious/spiritual issues in clinical practice.
Benefits of Studying a CPCAB Qualification
The CPCAB core progression route from Level 2 through to the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC-L4) meets recognised professional training standards, and provides eligibility for ACC registered membership upon successful completion.
Learners who progress further with CPCAB studying our Level 5 qualifications can work towards ACC accredited membership status.

CPCAB also accredits Tailor‑Made Qualifications that enable student membership with the ACC and can lead to full ACC Membership on successful completion.
Current accredited TMQs include:
- Manna House Counselling Service – full progression route from Level 2 Award: Introduction to Christian Counselling, Level 3 Certificate in Christian Counselling, through to Level 4 Diploma in Christian Counselling.
- The Tree of Life Centre – Level 2 Award: Introduction to Christian Counselling, Level 3 Intermediate Certificate in Counselling, and Level 5 Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
TMQs that are not specifically focused on Christian Counselling may also meet ACC membership requirements, provided they align with ACC’s standard or equivalence routes.
