New registrations for the Open University Foundation Degree in Counselling ended on 11th September 2025 when the Open University retired the qualification. They have replaced this qualification with a new full BSc (Honours) Degree in Counselling R86, which is being rolled out through 2026/27. Learners can use their CPCAB qualifications, such as TC-L4, and the combination of PC-L5 and CBT-L5 as credit transfer options to replace some of the core modules on this degree pathway. CPCAB learners also frequently use their CPCAB TC-L4 and CPCAB Level 5 qualifications as credit transfer for module exemption/recognition of prior learning (RPL) on a range of other degree programmes at the Open University and other HE institutions.
