Updates to CPCAB’s Malpractice and Maladministration Policy
As part of our annual Document Changes process, we have recently revised our Malpractice and Maladministration policy. Here you can find details of the changes and in what section of the policy they are.
Section 2
An update to the definition of malpractice, to include both individuals or businesses, and that it can be conducted by centres, centre staff and learners.
An update to the examples of candidate malpractice, to include the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for assessed course work.
An update to the examples of centre malpractice, to include that it is applicable to internal management systems, staff, resources, assessment or internal quality assurance.
Section 3
An update to the definition of maladministration to include it is considered as an activity of poor practice that results in the centre, or candidate, being non-compliant with the specific requirements for a qualification, impacting the integrity or validity of the qualification.
We encourage all tutors, course leaders, exams managers and administrative staff to read this revised policy and to contact the Qualification Standards team at standards@cpcab.co.uk if any further guidance or support is needed.
