Exciting News for Training Providers: CPCAB Qualifications with NCPS Recognition

Posted 3rd March 2025

We’re proud and excited to announce the launch of the NCPS Recognised Qualification status for some core CPCAB qualifications. As part of our continued work together and shared passion for high-quality counselling training, NCPS recognise that these CPCAB qualifications contribute to the pathway to becoming an accredited practitioner.

For the CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, and Level 3 Certificate in Applied Counselling Studies, the NCPS Recognised Qualification status provides a clear quality mark indicating that the qualifications meet industry standards for counselling and psychotherapy.

For the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, the NCPS Recognised Professional Qualification signifies the qualification meets industry recognised training standards for counselling and psychotherapy and fully meets the competency requirements of the SCoPEd framework in Column A.

This has many benefits for CPCAB-recognised centres and further solidifies our shared commitment to high-quality counselling training.

Professional Credibility, Recognition and Quality Assurance

The NCPS provides a quality mark signifying the qualifications meet industry recognised training standards for counselling and psychotherapy throughout our progression route. Our Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC-L4) fully meets the competency requirements of the SCoPEd framework in Column A.

Consistency

By ensuring consistency, learners can be assured that NCPS Recognised CPCAB qualifications offer the same high standard of education regardless of where they are obtained. CPCAB qualifications are always live-taught, providing the essential relational teaching hours required by the professional associations.

Increased student enrolment and learner confidence

Being recognised by a professional body can enhance a training centre's reputation, potentially increasing the attractiveness of the training to potential students as well as evidencing the quality of the training to other key stakeholders (e.g., further education providers, potential employers, Employer Assistance Programmes etc).

Marketing and Promotion

Training centres can use the Recognised Qualification or Recognised Professional Qualification logos as an endorsement in their marketing materials to help promote the course to prospective students. In addition to the benefits associated with the Recognised Professional Qualification status, centres can take advantage of a streamlined process and reduced fees to achieve Accredited Course status for TC-L4 with NCPS.

If your centre currently offers one of these qualifications, you can use our comprehensive marketing pack to support your course advertising and promotion.
