The Coalition for Inclusion and Anti-Oppressive Practice
A collaborative and cross-industry group aiming to commission and deploy toolkits to support the development of skills, knowledge and understanding for delivering inclusive counselling and psychotherapy training. The first toolkit, Race is complicated: A toolkit for psychological therapies training, helps to prepare candidates to explore diversity issues. This toolkit supports training centres, as well as individual training programmes and course tutors.

A new CPCAB resource to support training centres and tutors on the recent NICE guideline entitled ‘ Self-harm: assessment, management, and preventing recurrence.’ Training centres can use the resource to enhance teaching on risk assessment, while tutors can integrate it into the curriculum to promote reflective learning activities. Candidates will learn how the NICE guidelines inform their therapeutic work to engage with clients appropriately and ensure safe practice.
