The taster is designed for those who are considering counselling training or have an interest in pursuing a career as a counsellor. The taster gives insight into the counselling landscape, the route to achieving your career goal, and an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to become a counsellor. We hope this short introduction will give you confidence in choosing the best training pathway for you and encourage you to begin your journey to becoming a counsellor.


Who is it for?

We’re aware it can be daunting taking the first steps, therefore, we aim to help you answer the following questions…

This introductory taster is intended for individuals who are in the initial stages of exploring a career in counselling.  If you are presently enrolled in or have already completed CPCAB's Level 2, please note that the content covered in this taster is presented in greater depth at Level 2.

The CPCAB Level 2 course, is also suitable for several career paths, for instance, you may be interested in life coaching, health and social care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, and other helping roles.  If this sounds like you, then we also recommend enrolling on this free introductory taster!

2 hours approximately.

When can I start?

This taster is available to start as soon as you like and you can work at your own pace.

What will I receive?

Once you have completed the taster, you will receive a CPCAB CPD certificate. We also hope you will gain new knowledge and understanding about the training required to become a counsellor, plus the confidence to take those first steps to start the training.
